
W is for Workshops, Wet-Pro & World Ocean’s Day
The Network also filled its role of information sharing, by providing diverse monitoring protocols to various independent community groups and researchers including topics on coastal water quality in a local fishing sectors, identification of invasive species and emergency environmental concerns. The CBEMN also attended the Go Wild in HRM workshop held by the Sierra Club Canada – Atlantic Chapter in March 2012 to discuss and refine protocols developed for citizen science based biodiversity monitoring project in HRM.
CBEMN also offered a display on the Halifax Waterfront for World Ocean’s Day! Demonstrating the WET-Pro Toolkit, Halifax Harbour water was testing by school children as an interactive event.
